Hard to get anything removed now that they use AI to determine authenticity. Also reporting Chinese sellers is a losing battle as they have numerous accounts and will just switch the listing to a different account. At least seller admits it is a copy so no one should be expecting a genuine coin.

JimmyD is right. It's a total waste of time to report fakes. This is the response you'll get: Perhaps the shipping costs will deter buyers: Quote: Shipping: US $89.99

Quote: All we can do is protect ourselves and our own. I think that knowledgeable collectors shun ebay sellers from China. I won't buy anything from there unless I want a particular fake for cheap.

My only purchases direct from there were some cheap electronics for fun. Another US seller has drop-shipped pieces from there to save time and money. It all worked as advertised.

Just a waste of ever increasing valuable time to report this junk . ebay does not care as long as they are getting fees. Quite frankly buyers shopping for steals , thinking that there is a Santa Claus in Numismatics deserve exactly what they get!

The new collector that gets duped by the secondary seller was the driving force for me almost 20 years ago and is my worry to this day as dealers and collectors alike say.......THESE FAKES WILL NOT AFFECT ME.........wrong answer.

Mike M, maybe if the controllers or owners of ebay were hold legally responsible by authorities? Or, a class action suit to hold them responsible? Something RCNA and Cand could look into?

Curious...eBay is a publicly traded company I believe--on Nasdaq as ebay. Any member(s) of our community (CCF) have shares in ebay? If so, what might your take be?

I think if ebay issued a statement about fraudulent items, they would first highlight how infrequently it happens. Then they would tout their ebay guarantee for buyers, and various other customer-friendly policies. The scale seems large to us because it happens in our particular little niche. It's probably a drop in the ocean to ebay.
