I'm trying to get better at grading these, but find them tough. I was thinking XF-40, maybe 45 but would love the opinions of more seasoned collectors. I apologize for the picture quality. Thanks!

Nice CBH! Late die state, variety appears to be O-122, which is R5. No significant dings or scratches on either side. Die defects below the eagles chin and left wing align with O-122.

I can get on board with XF45, but sharper pics would be helpful to provide a more informed assessment.

I think it's a little better than EF. Nice surface color and great detail. AU-53.

I'm at XF-45 though AU-50 wouldn't surprise me. Very little wear but likely had a cleaning a long time ago judging from the color.

I'm thinking XF40. Not liking the surfaces in liberty's face and right breast.

you are into a series that is one of the more challenging to grade due to strike issues mainly. it can take years of looking at this series to determine what is strike related or what is wear. it even plays havoc with the pro's grading these.

i agree with the LDS obv. I think you are right in the area for the grade XF40/45
