I have noticed that certain emperors of this time period - notably Maximinus and Gordian III - seem to be surprisingly easy to obtain in almost-mint-fresh condition. As if a large proportion of the mintage of these coins went straight from the Mint into a hole in the ground. My own example of a Maximinus denarius is the highest-grade Roman coin I own. Don't say "infinitely" when you mean "very"; otherwise, you'll have no word left when you want to talk about something really infinite. - C. S. Lewis Report this Post to the Staff
