I'm completely new to this forum and not a coin collector. I am however an old Marine veteran and have been trying to get US minted coins related to the Corps.

My first question is about the U.S. Marine Corps 250th Anniversary 2025 Commemorative Silver Dollar. I've not seen this addressed anywhere on the internet. When I count the star rows on this coin I only count 5 rows. The top and bottom of the flag is clearly shown but there are only 5 rows. Even the US Mint's photo its clearly only 5 rows which is incorrect for a 48 state flag. The 230th Marine Commemorative has the correct number of 6 rows. What is the best explanation of this?

I've gotten issues of the 2025 Marine anniversary coins when the came out on January 2nd and expecting delivery of 2025 American Eagle Marine Privy today.
Had to go to a reseller to get it and paid double issued price.

What are the chances of the US Mint issuing more of the American Eagle Marine Privy later at reasonable price?

Thank you for your service, JarHead RVN and to the CCF.

If you haven't done so, check out this thread on the USMC Privy ASE: https://goccf.com/t/469907&whichpage=6#4390970

Chances are slim and none the USM will have additional available to sell.

Good eye! I don't believe there's anything nefarious going on - it's simply a matter of artistic license.

If you compare the coin with the original Iwo Jima photograph upon which the design is based, you'll notice that the original has only four clearly visible star rows, with one partial and the others being hidden by the curls of the waving flag. Each new artist can/will interpret the image how they "see it."

Here is comparison of the two coins.

On the 2025 coin looks to me that top star goes to top edge .of flag and bottom star goes to bottom edge of flag. No folds or waves in 2025 flag.
