I have a couple of medals I got as part of a lot and don't relate to anything I collect. I took them out this morning fully intending to list them on ebay.

And after seeing them again I couldn't do it. I'm sure I will regret this at some point in the future.

I have set of 10 Norman Rockwell Fondest Memories sterling ingots. Each weighs 3 troy ounces. I'm putting them in my melt bucket to turn into .999 bars.
Inordinately fascinated by bits of metal with strange markings and figures

The image in my head of "Norman Rockwell's Fondest Memories" being melted down because they aren't pure enough almost made me spit my drink out.

If you are thinking of selling pure silver in any form, do it now.
If silver price level scoots up to much higher levels one thing is certain:
these sorts of current peaky silver price levels will be almost certainly followed by a price crash.

Just be very careful and be certain that whatever silver exonumia you are selling
does not carry a significant rarity premium.

I've been selling junk silver coins. The price of silver doesn't impact the silver medals in my collection. It does make me pause before buying something that is priced mainly for it's bullion content. Perhaps I can get that for cheaper in a few months.

I consider gold and silver coins and medals to be a long time investment as I see our dollar collapsing. I would not sell into a dying currency. I would rather wait for the monetary system to be replaced and then slowly buy back into the new system. If and when I need to sell an item my minimum price would be it's melt value.

I have a sterling silver serving set that was given to me by my great Grandmother (I wonder what that would be worth now?) (no I'm not going to sell it)

Even if my silver were not part of my collection, I would be holding onto it. I do not need the money and it is a great store of value for diversification purposes.

Yes, I have long said that I am a coin collector, not a coin investor, but both things seem to be true with the rising price of silver.
