At first I thought "no problem", but it has me baffled. I think it might be Portuguese but the lettering has me ? Is it latin ?
Any ideas would be appreciated.
Weight 8.1g diameter approx 28mm
Thanks
Brian.

This jeton has a similar reverse: https://www.galata.co.uk/france-jeton

Well done @hon. I agree that it is most likely a Jeton of Tournoi.

I didn't realise that Google lens existed so thanks for the mention, I hardly ever use chrome.
I put both images into Google Lens and it came up with a different answer for each side of the coin, further delving required
Cheers

I agree that it can be helpful.

@jbl, with regard to seemingly mismatched obverses and reverses, I have a thought. First, a disclaimer that this is not my primary area of collecting and so you really need to check with a Jeton collector. Anyways, it has been my observation that Jetons tend to have lots of different sides, almost as if the places minting them mixed and matched dies rather than sticking with one design paired together for the whole run.

Jetons did tend to some with a variety of different obverses and reverses, sometimes from the same manufacturer. If one were using jetons to track complex money transactions on a counting-board, you might need different designs to represent different currency units.

In the case of this jeton, the inscriptions are (almost) identical on both sides: on the side with the cross, it's "SIT NOMEN DOMIN". On the side with the diamond, it's "SIT NOMEN DOMINI", with an extra "i". The lettering is hard to read due to the M and N letters lacking crossbars, rendering M as III and N as II. But with both sides giving essentially the same result, it's difficult to designate which side is supposed to be the "obverse".
