Approx. 25 mm diameter/ 5.9 grams. Maybe Charles II copper coin?

bobo13- I am not quite sure what to make of this one. The design on the reverse of the crowned thistle is clearly that of Scottish coinage of the 17th century. The problem is that the standard catalog does not show copper coins (pennies and two pence) that had a bust on the obverse. While this bust appears to be similar to those of Charles II that appeared on the silver coinage, the copper coins had a "rampant lion left, pellet behind, in inner circle" on the obverse (KM# 36, 40, 60, 37, 41, 61) or a "crown above crossed sword and scepter." (KM#35, 66, 67, 68, 69, 100, 114, 130, 137, 138.) So ultimately your coin remains a bit of a mystery to me.

Maybe this is the answerÌ

My coin is in very low grade, but it is an interesting image outlined in red and I can not find similar coin on the Internet. I hope one of you has seen a similar, or likely to be a fake (although it was bought from UK).

may have been minted some coins of Charles II with two busts. With one of his children?

At 25mm it's certainly a bawbee (copper sixpence) and it's most likely genuine, but I'm sure that what you're seeing is not a second bust; it's probably just an odd random pattern in the corrosion. The only Scottish coins with multiple portraits were the coins of William and Mary, like this one, but your "second nose, lips and chin" are too off-centre (too close to the coins' edge) to be one of these.

Besides, I'm pretty sure the first letter on the obverse is a "C" - for CAROLVS or Charles. I suspect the obverse is supposed to look http://cgi.ebay.com/Scotland-1678-C...33_W0QQitemZ180362512220QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Coins_BritishHammered_RL?hash=item29fe71875c&_trksid=p4634.c0.m14&_trkparms=|301:1|293:1|294:30
