1979 1c Wavy Roller Lines

I've seen a lot of roller lines on the late 70s - early 80s cents but they've always been straight lines. Maybe this wavy lined example can point definitively to rollers as being the cause.

They do look like Roller Lines. Cool find.

I wonder if the waviness indicates that the metal sheet was uneven thickness and did indeed need to be rolled.

With the lines at the top and bottom seemingly unaffected, I suspect some isolated wheels on rollers went wonky.

could these be (for lack of a better term) woody lines when the material was extruded from the furnace?

It isn't known for sure what causes these lines but they don't look like "woodys" to me.
