Found this 1951 cent CRH and the DDO looks different than the one in John O'Connors' book. Is this a new type?
Splitting on DEI, GRATIA, VI and the S of GEORGIVS.
Not much on REX.

I have one that is identical to yours Enyaw but I can't get on Ken's sight to compare it to type 1 found in 1981.

Nice find, that is the 1951 DDO T2 from my book just in circulated condition making it pop more. The. image I provided below are of a higher grade example of the one in my book.

1951-One-Cent-DDO-New-Type?

The one Ken Potter wrote about and photographed has the doubled letters going N/E on the right side of the letters, while the Type 2 I wrote about has the doubled letters going N/W on the left side.

You can find images of Ken Potters 1951 1 Cent Type 1 DDO in the back of the Charlton 70th edition.

When there is a decent doubled die, it sticks out way more on circulated examples compared to MS examples due to contrast, toning etc.
Finding and discovering modern Canadian doubled die varieties since 2018.

Okay, thanks.
Your book didn't mention the split S or the split VI so it made me question it.
