1835 Coronet Large Cent - for my 7070 album. (Currently soaking in acetone to see if I can get some of the gunk off.)

Hope it cleans up. Not sure that I like those colors.

Are the red//orange areas original mint lustre?

It's perhaps a beautiful example. Definitely above the average grade we see here.

lots of meat on this one. Probably AU sharpness but looks messed with by the color. Probably retoning now.

Quote: Are the red//orange areas original mint lustre? Yes, it is (at least to my eyes.) I'm hoping to get some of the accumulated gunk off the coin and see what lies beneath. Thank you Nickelsearcher

Thanks Jerry - The color is a bit strange, but then copper does strange things, possibly stained long ago and some of it was wiped off from circulation. I'll post up fresh images after a good long acetone soak and rinse.

The coloring does not differ much from the Numista example (mine does have a bit of crud on it more than the example in the link below though. https://en.numista.com/19856

Can't tell what's going on - looks more like cleaned now retoning from the pictures. Post pics after the acetone soak. That seems like a good candidate for a Verdi-Care treatment too.

Nice Large Cent, Dearborn! It's in a nice high grade as well. Looks like it was cleaned at some point and has retoned.

For being almost 200 years old, looks good to me. Hoping the bath helps, if not maybe look into retoning it.....
