$67. #23 of 40 acquired recently. Recently I purchased 40 slabbed Morgan dollars (36 ANACS, 3 PCGS and 1 ICG) and will post one a day alongside one Peace dollar. I paid an average of $67 for the 40 coins. This time I will post the grade of the coin 2 days after and this time we can compare our grades with those of TPGs. Thoughts? Thanks! Very nice 1886. That's a tougher year to find eye-pleasing well struck Philadelphia UNCs, and this is one. The two short but deep cheek marks are the key. There are other lighter short scratches on the cheek and average field issues, but those two deep dings really stand out. The reverse is excellent, but it's hard to judge the depth of the larger ding in the gap between the left wreath and UNITED. Take away the two cheek gouges, and this would be an easy MS-64. With those two, however, I could see a half step bourse floor drop here to MS-63+. If a TPG came in below MS-63, this one would be seriously undergraded. Very nice coin.
