So I have a lousy trackrecord of spotting pls so why not reward myself with a pl Morgan. 80 and 81 has good prices Do you agree with pcgs that this is a good 66? I like that the portrait is so clean lovely coin. The fields on the obverse is kind of messy thou. is this market acceptable, most pl morgans I see are similar

thanks, clean! I see lots of snailtrails :) but I ive learned morgans grade differently than world coins  . But I like the portrait only some small "scuffs" I love the cameolook on it.

There seems to be a light, long edge hit across stars 2-5. A few light hits to the left of Liberty's eye. A little chatter above star 12. Also count 7 tiny hits on the neck. It seems very superficial but there is a fairly large number of these. But otherwise the fields are superb, particularly in the reverse. From what I can see from PCGS's imaging, not having examined it in hand, I would call it a borderline 64+-65 coin. Reflectivity, I would rely on PCGS's assessment as I can't make my own.

Undeniably, this is a beautiful coin. I can't get to MS-66 here.
The obverse has far too many nicks for MS-66. There is a deep knock on the cheek in the center of the eye-ear-nose triangle. There are quite a few smaller nicks on the lower back of the cheek. There are contact marks in the hair above the ears, And (significantly) there are quite a few heavier contact marks on the lower cap, below the ribbon. The field scratches beneath the chin are more obvious because of the PL surfaces, so those don't concern me as much. Overall, I'm at MS-64+ for the obverse. The reverse is better. The devices are exceptional, and the remaining contacts are at least MS-66. As nice as it is, I can't see this (or any) reverse pulling this obverse up to MS-66.
Personally, I'd net this one to MS-65 PL. At MS-65+, I'd give it the side eye, but price those doubts in. MS-66 is a bridge too far here for me, though. JMHO.

good input FC and Nstudent. I do agree about the contactmarks hence my question. a 65+ would be more correct. pls are very unforgiving with marks. But the eyeappeal is magnificent imho ++++. The cameo really stands out. Its offered for 740S so much money for me

Remember these are PCGS photos. I would bet in hand its a beautiful MS 66 PL.

Good inputs all, for me the most important thing is a clean face on a pl not if its 65 or 66 or rarity, so rather a clean 65 than a 66 with marks. To bad for me the dollar strenghtened some. I have hadd fun looking up normal ms67s on ebay and boy they are all over the place when it comes to snailtrails and marks
