1957-D Lincoln Wheat: What Is Up With The Date?

Seems like some Cud or die chip on the 9 at least, but also some weird doubling on the other numbers I'm honestly not sure what to make of it. Report this Post to the Staff

The doubling on the date is definitely Machine Doubling. That said, there is possible light doubling on "ERTY" of LIBERTY and a little more likely doubling on the "UST" of TRUST. Especially notice the second "T" of TRUST. Some of the markers are present that suggest it could be 1957-D WDDO-008 Stage C or D, which may or may not also be an unlisted later stage of DDO-010 on Variety Vista. It's worth checking this more closely to rule it in or rule it out. Your coin also has a minor, but eye-pleasing, woodie effect. Report this Post to the Staff
