Again I agree with you. I am not a coin expert. I am just a retired guy collecting coins. This is why I come here for a better understanding of what I am looking at. I would like to send this penny to a grading service that can determine what is going on with this penny. Any suggestions to such a company would be appreciated.

I'm surprised nobody answers your questions..........your best bet would be ANACS. They verify errors and are very reasonable price wise.

I would advise against sending it in for grading because the cost of grading far out weighs the value of this coin, But if you must - then ANACS would be the one to go to.

But if you do, please report back here with the findings.

I was not thinking about making money from it. It is just a hobby and I would like to find out what is going on with this penny. I will report back once I receive a answer. It may be a while. At least 15 days or more depending on the amount of examination needed. Everyone here has been helpful and supportive. Thanks

Ok this penny has come back from ANACS. It is graded:
Good 4
Obverse lamination.
So I am going with this for now anyway.
