Picked this up recently and noticed there's no ngc holograph on the back of the holder. Otherwise it looks fine. Do you think someone just peeled off the sticker or did I get a fake? The luster is a bit dull but It looks legit to me but the lack of holograph has me worried.

You have the serial number - go to the NGC Serial Number lookup page and see what it looks like there.

I'm not sure I understand. How does that help if there's no picture of the coin on the ngc site? It matches the date/mint marks but that doesn't prove much...

How about an image of the entire slab as well?

There was pictures of the whole slab, front and back, but he deleted them for some reason.

I did delete the slab picture as someone told me I had the serial number and I should look it up myself. I already did that and there are no pictures of the coin on the NGC site so I don't know what I'm supposed to verify. The date and mint mark match but even a decent scammer would match the fake slab with a matching date/mint mark. Usually I use the picture to verify a small imperfection or something distinguishable in the coin to validate its the one from the TPG. Either way, thanks for the comments. I feel good that this ones OK. Looking at the sellers other items, he also has some older NGC slabs that look like the hollo stickers are degrading. So it could just be this was improperly stored which caused the black mark on the coin and the hollo label to peel/degrade away. Too bad I didnt notice the black mark before buying because the pictures weren't great. Overall though it was a cheap lesson learned.

Just some questions as I look at these photos. The answers could be that these are just the lighting and and slab scratches, but these things stand out to me.

What's going on with the reverse rim at about 3:30? The designer's initials seem very weak, but that could be lighting. Is that just a discoloration on the sun, or is it a depressed area on the sun? There sure seem like a lot of gouges on the obverse. Notice the N-S gouges in the recess well to the left of the date and running up into the gown, on the sun, across Liberty's outstretched arm near the wrist, and throughout the obverse. Also, are some of those lines on the obverse and reverse die cracks? What is the stated grade for this coin?
