Here are several 1935 Lincoln cents. Some of them appear to be
DDO FS-101. Others look more like
Machine Doubling.
An up front caveat is that the 1935
Lincoln Cent DDO FS-101 has sometimes been a contentious call for a couple of reasons:
First, the doubling and the appearance of major die markers differs significantly depending on die stage when the coin was struck. This can be seen by comparing the early and late die stages shown on the Wexler Variety web page:
https://www.doubleddie.com/377701.html Doubling in the late die stage is less obvious than the early stage.
Second, doubling on the 1935
DDO FS-101 is often fairly flat and shelf-like, without clearly split serifs, which is suggestive of
Machine Doubling. This is evident even with high grade uncirculated coins such as the PCGS MS67 example at url:
https://www.pcgs.com/coinfacts/coin...101-rd/37747Third, well circulated 1935
DDO FS-101
Lincoln Cent smay look very different than uncirculated coins, with fat numbers in lieu of doubling on the date. An example of a VF-30 is shown at the following PCGS url:
https://www.pcgs.com/cert/44624323Because it may be the most distinctive feature of the 1935
DDO FS-101, I've shown doubling of the eyelid as the first photo for each coin. I've followed with photos to show doubling on the motto. Lastly, I've included photos to show doubling on the date.
