right before the 'E' almost looks like ghost of an "L" but no other lettering apparent. Probably just my imagination but thought I'd ask as I'm still learning...
Also this seems to be really good shape for circulated better/sharper detail than on a bunch of ms66+ I've seen...
I'm always confused about this... I get the whole MS thing, but what about coins that have better detailing than MS-rated but are circulated?

What you're seeing isn't a DDO, but the result of Die Deterioration. The obverse die that struck your coin was wearing out. There's also a scratch near the E in Liberty.

is " Die Deterioration" a desirable error? or should I release this one back into the wild?

It is not an error, it is wear and tear.

But I would keep it as a reference example to compare with future finds.
