To me some of the damage looks like it had to be a die, like the metal wouldn't form like that by being modified. What are your thoughts?

My vote is 100% post-mint damage. I can't say if it was a person or machinery, but this quarter didn't leave the mint looking like this.

Definitely damage, no way that could happen when the coin was struck.
About 99% of anomolies are on a coin are damage, not an error.
Suggest you study on how coins are struck and what an actual error is.

Jimmy honestly, I am not a collector, I'm posting these to sell to ya'll who appreciate and collect. If they are valuable, just looking for fair price and a home where they would be given the due they deserve. Also not here trying to get rich at all. Just learn a little and hopefully maybe find one for ya that might be a "unicorn:"
