I found this quarter looking through my proof sets.
It is in its original plastic box from the mint.
Wondering exactly what happened below his chin?
I am thinking post mint damage, but its uncirculated and has been in there since it was new

Looks like struck through lint.

Here is a link to a prior post I made about a proof nickel that was struck through lint or thread:

Thank you!
Is it something that would make it more valuable even tho its not a true error?

You might get a few dollars for it as a minor mint error.

Can we get a full obverse and reverse pic, and a scope pic from the scope itself?

Thanks. What I meant by scope pic was an image uploaded from the scope itself. A phone pic of the screen adds two levels of pixelization. One good scope pic of the affected area would be good to have.

95% sure it's struck through lint, regardless. Scratches inflicted by machines and people don't curl up like that.

Pictures of your scope screen is not allowed. Post up only the images that your scope takes, not the screen of it.

This is the very first line on the image upload box.

I like how it goes from the field into his chin.
It is odd that the anomaly appears to be cameo, like the devices.

It's a nicely defined minor error on a proof coin. Good find! =)
