Hi all,

While roll hunting loonies I keep an eye out for double date 2012s (and they are quite common). However, I came across a 2012 with a die chip on "0".

I thought it was near and put it aside, and today I found another! Not quite the same, but pretty close.

Is this a variety? I can't find anything online.

I've never heard of a "Q" error, but it sure looks like a 'Q".

It is just a die chip that someone has given a fancy name
to. It is like the 2000 Toonie that is called the Pedestal.
If it was an 1/8"" lower, it would just be a regular die chip.
Technically they are not a variety, just part of the minting process.

Neat Die Chip placement. It does look like a Q.
