I found this penny.

I was about to discard it but I am not 100% it is physical damage done to the coin. It looks like cracks a bit everywhere (especially top left corner.

1974-1-Cent---Error?

At first I thought it was just damage caused by the coin being in contact with others, but I noticed some of the cracks going from one side to the other of the "1" of 1 Cent without going over the 1.

1974-1-Cent---Error?

If I turn in in different angle, I see no cracks so I dont have a feeling those are scratches.

What is your opinion?

Your cent looks like it may. have been varnished or shellaced and
is cracking. That would not have happened at the mint.
Whats the other side look like.

The other side has nothing special, perfectly normal.

How long did you soak it for?
It may take up to 24 hours.

There's something on the surface of the coin. Not an error.
