Hello everyone,
Just joined and wanted to get your thoughts on this 1915 P Buffalo I have that seems to be missing the F initial. I can't find a listing for a 1915 P No F and wanted to get your thoughts about it possibly being an unlisted No F. I'm not familiar with anybody who does the abraided die attributions for the buffalo's. Thanks.

Well, NGC attributes No F on 1913, 1916, 1917, 1919 nickels. You could message them and see if they would add 1915 attributions.

I imagine that ANACS would probably attribute your coin.

A 1915 NF variety is known, but not listed in any of the key publications. Ron Pope was aware of it but did not update his guide after it was discovered.

I am aware of two exceptional private Buffalo nickel collections that include both 1915 NF and 1915 2.5FNF varieties that may be different stages of the same die pair. Neither variety is listed by the Cherry Picker's Guide or any of the major TPGs. I assisted those collectors in acquiring quite a few of their coins, though not these particular varieties.

You may want to connect with the online Buffalo Nickel Club and post this on their forum to see if you can find additional information. Just a note that your coin may be a partial F, rather than a complete NF.

Nice coin, and a fantastic find!

Thanks for all the comments and the information. I will message them to try to find out more. Thanks and appreciate your comments!

Here is one of my favorites that I intend to send for grading soon. It is a 1921 S, 2 Feather, Partial F, with what I believe is a lamination error on the reverse. My favorite feature is the rev error makes the "o" in "of" look like it has a roof. Second and fourth leg may also be doubled or maybe MD. Thanks again!

Thanks! The sad thing is I never really liked the Buffalo's until I bought my first UNC coin. I immediately feel in love with the design. I think it was due in part that the buffalo's that I had were to worn to really appreciate the. I can say, that now, it is my favorite coin design. Stay on the lookout for 2 feather's, no F's, rpm's, and doubled dies. You can still cherry pick varieties that have not been found/documented. Thanks. I found this one close to a year ago, my first DD, and though it is minor, it is the only 1937 D DDO that I know of that is listed.

Also, if anybody is curious, these images were taken with my Elikliv 4K digital microscope with autofocus and added ring light. Has built in illumination, but a ring light helps. Best way I have found to take good images without having an expensive setup.
