The question I'm asking myself is if I should get this 1878 s Trade dollar thats in a pcgs au58 holder resubmitted for variety attribution. How many know about this variety and is there a demand for it? If it were uncirculated it would be obvious but at au58 this is a situation I feel that I need the community's help once again to get a feel so to speak so if I ever decide to sell it...does this make sense. I believe this variety is the FS-801

Can't help you much, but it's indeed a DDR. And a nice one too! I did find a XF details cleaned Trade dollar with FS-801 on ebay for 612.50. Yours is worth a lot more than the one on ebay. https://www.ebay.com/itm/2358390307...no&gbrtmp=no

I appreciate the reply and it did help!
Trying to guage if this is a case if variety attribution will add liquidity in the future. Sometimes it limits how many buyers there are but doesn't seem like thats the case here especially because there aren't many vareities in the Trade dollar series. (hate to sound like an investor but I will sell my collection in the next 2 years to buy a home for my fiance' and I.)

That's asking price. Any data on sold items?

True, Hondo. There's only two listed on ebay. The other one on there, the seller is asking for over a grand for it. I checked sold listings, and there's no results. Here's the other one. It's the asking price though. https://www.ebay.com/itm/1470718363...01+Die+%23+1

It's a nice example of a fairly dramatic DDR. There are quite a few certified examples that have sold on Heritage and they don't seem to fetch large premiums compared with normal coins. Not sure getting the coin attributed will add a lot to a potential sale price.
