I always see and hear of people finding these varieties but are they of any value? Are they common to find in circulated condition? I never bothered to look for them before - should I?

My view with Denver dimes is that they are somewhat common. I had a dozen or so of the 70D ( kept I think the best 2 or 3 and stored them away, couldn't say where they are today [ moved almost 4 years ago now and still haven't unpacked everything/ still can't find my scale or stapler ])

According to TB, the 1968 reverse is not all that rare for 1970 and 1970-D. It might be considered scarce for 1969. My experience has been similar to Greasy: I have found the 1970-D with Reverse of 1968 with considerable frequency.
