19? Lincoln Cent Off Center Doubled Die Reverse / DDR ?

I should have done it anyway to clarify nothing standing in the way of determining the error. I don't think there is a way of determining the correct date on this Lincoln Cent I know it's a pretty cool off center with possible doubling on the reverse? The second s in States looks doubled also isn't extra thickness a part of doubling? The bottom left of the memorial on the reverse looks doubled as well as the o in one at bottom of cent. Am I correct in saying that if a coin doesn't have the date that can identify it is worth less money? It's a pretty good red color and how do you get an estimate on what a coin like this is worth. I know by sending it in to get graded is the only sure way but you don't know if you're showing money away by not getting your money's worth out of the grade. Dearborn Moderator United States 95805 Posts	Posted Yesterday 8:43 pm Yes, you should have remove the coin (carefully) from the 2x2 as to eliminate the glare we see from the cello. This is a nice no date off center cent, but I don't think we can determine the date exactly, but it is a zinc coin to that gets us to a date starting at 1982, it is also a Wide AM cent so that narrows the date to 1982 to 1992 (unless it is a 1988 to 2000 WAM variety - which we'll never know due to no date) Collecting since 1972. -makecents- Pillar of the Community United States 8748 Posts	Posted Yesterday 10:28 pm There are multiple ways to narrow down the date of a coin but some cannot be totally narrowed down. Here are a couple of links to look at the differences of the obverse and reverse changes over the years and it would appear to be a zinc cent which helps narrow it down to 82-2008, the rest is just work....
