Hi everyone,

I know there is the famous 42/41 merc dime variety. What I am wondering is if there are any other varieties for that date? I have a 1942 Mercury dime and the date just looks off to me. It is really hard for me to get close up enough to the area I am talking about, but I am in the process of cropping the 100 images I just took to see if any will show what I am talking about properly.

Obviously the 42/41 is a very noticeable thing so I am sure it's not that. Any others out there?

I am going to add pictures as I find ones that are properly viewable. FOr some reason the doubling I see keeps showing up as glare in the pictures. I did get an alright shot of the 9 and you can see inside to loop of the 9 there is another loop. I hope I am making sense here. lol There is definitely something under the 42 but since I changed the bulb in my desk lamp I am fighting with the pictures I take.

The 42/41D is the only other one that I know of. The overdate isn't as pronounced as the 42/41.

alright, I added a few photos and you can kind of see what I am talking about. I am heading out to the post office in about an hour and I am going to stop at business depot and see if I can find a better lamp or something that can help me a little.

thanks for any opinions.

Not all of them are that pretty. But I do have a bunch from the 40's that are higher grade. I love Mercury dimes..... well dimes in general. I like small silvers. :)
