The coins in the Uncirculated set are different from
business strike coins struck for circulation.

If you tour the Philadelphia or Denver Mints, you will
see that the Uncirculated coins are produced in their
own dedicated area, on smaller lower-speed presses.

The Uncirculated coins in Mint Sets have been struck
in 'satin finish' since 2005, and the difference is
readily apparent when such a coin is held side by side
with its BU business strike version.

The business strike James K. Polk Dollar will be
released from the Mint on August 20, 2009.

The business strike Zachary Taylor Dollar will be
released from the Mint on November 19, 2009.

Yes, the coins in this set are Uncirculated satin finish (numismatic) strikes, the same as will be in the full Mint Sets later this year.

A lot of us are waiting for the Mint Sets, because they will include the four 95% copper Lincoln Cents in satin finish.
