Hey folks, I've placed this coin up in the grading forum before and gotten the sugestion to send it into NCS for some preservation work. My question is if I sent it to NGC instead do you think it would come back graded or ungradeable?

This looks like an EF-45 or maybe even AU-50 coin with significant corrosion/environmental damage. I don't think NGC would slab it. NCS would "conserve" this coin to stabilize the corrosion, hopefully preventing it from getting worse. I think the value of the coin (and the risk of having the corrosion continue) certainly justifies sending it to NCS.

I wholeheartedly agree with Jaobler. An NCS slab is perfectly acceptable in the marketplace, and although the value as a "bodybag" coin would be reduced, it would still carry the authentication endorsement of a reputable TPG.
