He has a lot of nice high grade type coins, particularly scarcer dates/mm's. Which raises red flags, because these just don't come up too often. I've seen the same coins on heritage and teletrade in problem slabs, but I've not had bad dealings with him really....and a lot of his raw coins up look lightly cleaned or even outright cleaned, and he just doesn't describe it.

i don't see who the seller is but if he is listing coins that are cleaned and you know they are cleaned and he does not describe them as cleaned I would not deal with him

A deal is a deal...if I can get it for 50% of fair market value for a cleaned coin, I will buy it. But I assume that pretty much all his raw coins are cleaned.

I'm missing something here ... you ask if any of us have dealt with an ebay seller, but fail to identify said seller.

I didn't fail to identify the seller, it looks like a mod removed it. Unless I am mistaken...I'll wait for one to post here and see if I'm allowed to name the person.

Could I ask a favor of the CCF community? Most of my time on the forum is during lulls at work (feast or famine). Unfortunately they block many sites: ebay, Photo-hosting sites, etc. I can not follow an ebay link or view pictures linked to photo-bucket, inkfrog, etc. In this particular case if you could just post the username of the seller in question that would help tremendously. Thanks.

ShadowCreator - I have NOT dealt with this ebay seller, BUT, if I was contemplating bidding or buying from him I would feel reasonably confident in buying from him...at least as confident as I would feel buying ANYTHING off of ANYBODY on ebay.

This guy has a 99.9% positive rating however, as I've said before, negative ratings are like icebergs. What you see is probably only about 10% of what you should be seeing. So the thing to do is to try to locate those few negatives and see if the specifics of them scare you.

This seller has 2 negatives over the last six months and 2 negatives over the last 12 months...which simply means the two negatives occurred in the last 6 months and that there were no negatives in the prior 6 months.

So what were they? Here's the first one. The buyer had this to say:

"rejected by NGC for grading after seller assured it would"

To which the seller replied:

"offered full money back,,,,,,,,they said they would send it to NCS, not NGC"

And here's the item: (I would have questioned why the front looked so "scratchy" or simply not bid. The photo tells the story, doesn't it?)

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...91287809&ru=http://shop.ebay.com:80/%3F_from=R40&_trksid=p284.m38.l1313&_nkw=370191287809&_sacat=See-All-Categories&_fvi=1&_rdc=1

Here's the second negative. The buyer said:

"Was not AG Was scrap Silver"

To which the seller responded:

"We offered to pay shipping back on top of a full refund = What more could we do"

And here is the item (My opinion is that the description is CORRECT. I can still see the date so, in my book, it's an AG, not scrap)

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...94568863&ru=http://shop.ebay.com:80/%3F_from=R40&_trksid=p284.m38.l1313&_nkw=370194568863&_sacat=See-All-Categories&_fvi=1&_rdc=1

The seller also some NEUTRALS, but 4 of them are from the same buyer, and in my opinion, that buyer clearly misread the listing and did not understand that it was a Dutch auction.

99.9% positive is the lowest rating that I'll EVER consider buying from. And as 99.9% sellers go, this guy seems pretty decent.
