1973 D Reverse Damage?

I just found this 1973 D cent. Nothing appears out of the ordinary on the obverse. The reverse has some issues? Any suggestions on the causes of each of the problems on the two photos. They are on the same coin. I can not see any other details out of the ordinary on the reverse. Thanks.

The 2nd. photo is a die clash.The first photo if it's a struck through wouldn't it affect the obverse too because the void on the reverse is so deep?

Another option could be #1 is a heavy grease filled example? Hard to tell on such a close shot.
