I am not a token collector, but I have one from a lot that I purchased awhile back. I posted a pic of it on the board and no one had much information to add about it.

Is there a token catalog, in the "Krause" family for American tokens from the 1940s. Better yet, anyone own that catalog and would be able to look up my token for me to give me info on rarity and catalog value.

Any help would be appreciated

I don't know too much, but Rulau is the name that comes to mind as the "Krause" of token catalogs. I was able to id a Cuban sugar plantation token one time and remember Rulau (sp?).

Do you search for information about North or South America tokens.
the one of Russell Rulau is for Latin American Tokens.

IMHO, your 1940 era token is worth about $3. It's the sort of token that a dealer would wholesale for $1-$2.

Unlike coins, there are no token books of which this oldtimer is aware that give specific up-to-date values. Exonumia price lists from dealers offer something of a guide. One can subscribe to receive these catalogs. Joining a token collecting organization can be informative. Check this website: http://tokencatalog.com/

Stephen Alpert sells an all-around token collector book that gives general prices. It runs about $23 and can be found on his website: http://spalpert.com/
