Hi. Is that a double eyelid? Is it possible to have lathe lines on the rim of a coin? Or else what are these lines? Thanks

I don't do much with dimes so this is only my un-expert opinion! I think the eyelid looks normal to me. I don't think the other lines are lathe lines ,I think they are related to the process that puts the reeding on the coin edge. I hope somebody who knows a lot more than me comments soon, I just didn't want you to think we were ignoring you.

Sorry but there is no Doubled Eyelid on Roosevelt! It is just the part of the eyelid that somewhat folds and bulges outward when the eye is open.

Also, those are not Lathe lines! They appear to be heavy Die Polish lines or Die Scratches that were on the Die when the coin was struck.

How does the ear appear? The eyelid does look different, but I'm a Cent man myself.

I am not in to dimes myself and cents are the in thing. coop the ear looks normal. hockingzig thanks for the concern but I never felt being ignored in this forum. For every post I made no matter how redundant I always get an answer. I can actually get answers from the 44000 topics with 375000 posts in this forum but it is always nice to get fresh answers from members with new finds, discoveries, latest inputs, coupled with a little bit of lazyness to do research. This is the only forum I am a member of.
Cheers

I have no opinion about the eyelid, but yes I would agree that those are lathe lines created when the die body was cut down to the final diameter and the notch that create the rim on the coin.
