Well, let's see, pick up another Clad Proof Set for a co-worker,
get more BU John Tyler Dollars to wash my cars with , and
then: "Hmmm, what's that I see in the display case?"

I really want to tour a mint one of these days (probably the philly mint since it is closer) what is it like to tour a mint? What other items did they offer in the gift shop? These are really neat I wouldn't mind having a couple for myself.
Rest in Peace

DNA, Last time I was in the Denver Mint gift shop, I had to be escourted through the mint itself in order to reach the shop. Is that still the case, or is there now an easier access?

I'll be in Denver in a week, and plan a visit. Just curious how easy it will be to enter the gift shop.

Those are really interesting. Do you mind telling us how much they cost you?

Gary, the Gift Shop has its own entrance, just south of the Main entrance where you start the tour. In the summer there's usually a coin dealer or two with a cart set up right by the gift shop entrance.

The Denver Mint Gift Shop has been selling encased Presidential dollars since 2007. Those are sometimes called "Presidential Oath Dollars", because the outer ring has the text "Preserve, Protect and Defend the Constitution".

The Encased Coins are sold only by the Denver Mint Gift Shop, in person. (so that they are a unique souvenir for those who have visited the Denver Mint).

I had no idea that they were going to sell encased 2009 Cents.
I love the outer ring design on the obverse!

I'd love to tour a mint too, but every time I go on vacation I go with my wife and she would definitely veto a mint visit. I did get to tour the New Orleans mint. I also got to go through the BEP facility in Fort Worth (they got really cool buses that drive you to the actual facility that have US currency printed on the side).
