I think it's fake because I remember in the Red Book that any piece that says "California Gold" is a reproduction.

Thanks, My avatar?, yes I'm a digger. Love to go detecting and occasionaly find some good stuff.
This was a coin bought in a lot of coins though, and I'm thinking its probaly just a souvanier.

No genuine Cal golds have the bear motif, if you see a bear it is a fake.
