I posted these pix a few months ago. I won the (raw) coin on ebay. The dealer had described it as "XF." Although I do not approve of "XF" when referring to an EF coin , I bought it anyway.
There was some discussion on whether it would make the EF category. Some thought it would be held back due to the weak strike around the ear - typical of this early High Relief design. At least one person thought the pit in the cheek might bring a body-bag if submitted.
Well, I submitted it to PCGS and finally got it back after waiting about 50 years. The grade: AU-55!
