I pulled both of these from circulation recently, and I was wondering if they had any collector value over face value?

Thanks

2004 $20s are still quite common and I doubt it would have a premium even if it was CU. The $100* had a print run of 2.24 million so it is common for a star note and would have no premium when heavily circulated.

The $20 is what I call a near radar, I have a $1 like that, not worth anything I don't think, I kept mine though, for awhile any ways. The star note I would not keep because most collectors want it to start out with four or more zeros, unless it's a low printing or something I would spend it.

What was special about the $20? I have a $20 of 2004 with a different treasurer. Is that it or am I missing something. Just trying to train my eye.

I'm not a note guy so bear with me, how can you tell this?

I'm guessing it's something to do with the serial number.

There is a web site that lists info on star notes. It give you a spot to type in the serial number and tells gives you a table with amounts printed etc..
