Hello, I found this $5 bill in circulation, I looked it up on the currency collection website and it says that the run size is 64000. Does this mean it is bill is actually worth more than $5? Is this a keeper? Can someone else with more experience look up the serial and put the info in laymans terms?
I just started collecting Star notes and I need all the help I can get.
Serial # is IA03254308*
Series 2006
Thanks!

Actually, they printed 3,840,000 of them from what I can tell. It's still collectible for the star but far less rare than something with a print run of 64,000.

Actually the run size was 640,000. The total for that block is 3.84 mill. I would keep it if it was close to uncirculated but otherwise I might wait for something better.

When looking for stars look for low serial numbers, or ones with repeating numbers, or birthdates, ect. Those things can increase the value. Also look for bills that are crisp with as few folds as possible and no tears.

Sorry to sound ignorant but, what is the run size? And what is the block?

Run size is the amount of bills that are being printed in a particular day or "block" of serial numbers

So if I'm not mistaking, this star note is actually worth keeping because of the run size right?
