Hello to all of you Indian Head/Flying Eagle collectors. The Fly-In Club has graciously donated a paid one-year membership to be given away here on Coin Community. You can find the site here: http://www.fly-inclub.org/This club is devoted solely to Indian Head cent and Flying Eagle cent varieties. There is also a forum. The rules for this one are easy: Just make a post here explaining what you like about Indian Heads or Flying Eagles and how this membership can benefit you. You must have a minimum of 10 posts to participate. I will draw the winner on Monday, May 8 (which also happens to be my son's birthday)at 9 pm EDT. For those of you who collect these coins, Fly-In membership is a great source of knowledge and they're a great bunch of people too.

Well allow me to be the first. My main reason for collecting Indians and Flying Eagles are the amount of varieties out there. I really enjoy looking for any and all varieties, especially in these two series. Have found a couple RPD, one 1897 Midplaced Date, and 3 Flying Eagle Double Dates so far. I do not go to shows so I do not get to look through as many as I would like. I would realy enjoy the membership for the forum and any other useful information I would acquire by being a member. Not sure if this is what you were wanting, but hey, here it is. Thanks for the chance. Jordan

Actually, Jordan, that's exactly what I wanted. The forum is relatively new but the club has been around for a while. With membership to the club comes a subscription to Longacre's Ledger which is full of great info and Rick Snow himself posts on the forum.

Hi Susan, as I own only one Flying Eagle cent (and 34 indians) I'm sure there are others much more interested in this forum. Just a suggestion that you should mention "Flying Eagle" and "Indian Head" in the topic heading as I thought a fly-in club was like frequent flyer points for airlines. LOL

I have changed the title.
Toast, it doesn't matter how many you own, your level of interest is what matters.

Well I will atleast place my thoughts .. I personaly love the different native cultures and have 3 different tribes in my geneology. I like jdheyne like the series for its many varieties and I like the challenge of completing this set I consider it to be one of the more challenging sets to complete I would also hate to duplicate what JD said but I have found a few RPM's and would love to learn more about these series of coins It seems like the big dogs seem to run in that yard while I am on the portch. I would like to learn. But if not Thank you for the opportunity and may the best collector win and my blessing to the winner

Well, I have a common Indian Head cent Which I personally value alot since....It was given to me by my Grandfather, It was in his little box of coins. And another 1 was given to me by a Fellow coin collector I met here in Kuwait. His name is rick and met him on a forum, he will be joining here soon.I went to a shop he reccomended and not only got me a 2006 RedBook and a IHC. I treasure both of them. I love The look of Toned IHC. I never seen and FLying Eagle, will have to buy it soon for my type set. Thats it. But I'de rather the membership go to a more "worthy" collector who collects only IHC's or Flying Eagles! Thanks!

Sorry for the delay. I didn't do the drawing last night as I was spending "quality time" with James for his birthday and forgot to do the drawing once he went to bed. I drew the name this morning and the winner is Scoutjim99! Jim, please send me your full name and mailing address so that I can forward the information to the Fly-In Club. I think you will enjoy your membership very much.
