I'm buying up 1966 $1 and $2 notes and am wondering how much above 2xnote value I should look at offering for a run of two for example......Looking at ebay purchases mostly. KLD Pillar of the Community Australia 1079 Posts	Posted 04/24/2006 11:17 pm Consecutive decimal run of 2 would not command a premium at all. If it was a run of 4 or 10 then yes you need to pay a bit more more for them. Also with buying coombs and wilson notes the price is largly dependant on the grade, being the first year of issue they are some what popular. I hope this has helped a bit. Bigfella Pillar of the Community Australia 853 Posts	Posted 04/25/2006 07:37 am Never pay a premium on runs. Most dealers will break a run for a sale on decimal notes to get a sale. If a dealer will break a run then they place no extra value on it so neither should you. Runs can be nice but you shoulkd not pay extra for them. Report this Post to the Staff

Bigfella Pillar of the Community Australia 853 Posts	Posted 06/06/2006 08:47 am I agree Drew....but I do say this...I have only met one dealer ever who was not prepared to break a run to earn a sale. In fact he charged almost a 50% premium on a run. The key thing I said was charged...he now does not sell!!!! It does not hurt to mention a run if selling but do not expect the buyers to pay more for the run unless it is a hard run to get...an Aussie $20 Coombs/Randall in unc may fit the bill here. markn Pillar of the Community Australia 1295 Posts	Posted 06/06/2006 6:15 pm I've been watching runs for a couple of months on ebay. First/last issue polymers seem to go for a slight premium in runs. Other notes (apart from extraordinary cases like the one Bigfella mentions above) dont seem to. In fact I've picked up quite a few runs where the per note cost is a lot less than what you see individual notes going for. I'd like to mention I am addicted to Coombs/Wilson decimals. yay for me. She gave him 10 notes from the last bundle that that bank got from the mint. They where put away and havent seen the light of day since. He also has a comm. aust.Phillips Randall in great condition.
