Right now, I am looking at USA coins, but maybe not opposed to foreign coins at some point. I already have the newest RedBook, Volume 1 of the cherrypickers, A pocket change book, and a grading book. I know there are about a bazillion magazines out there as well. What is the "standard" in which most of the dealers go by as for pricing. What are the best books to get.

Im sure there are many opinions but as a standard I think the Blue book is used as well as a greysheet. Reality is both go out the window at an auction which is where most or at least a high volume of coins are actually sold. Keeping a finger on the pulse there is really the only way.

If you have CPG Vol 1, then you definitely need to get Vol 2. As far as other books go, it really depends on what particular coin series you are interested in.

Its a dealers wholesale price guide more or less , put it into google and a link will take you to a greysheet.

Coin Dealers Newsletter aka "Greysheet" A full subscription is expensive so look under the "SPECIALS" header at the top of the web page and click on it, I would recommend the $13.75 pack

I guess that's the "magazine" type publication I keep seeing the dealers looking at. Are any of the other magazines worth the effort for pricing, or is the RedBook the "bible" of pricing for the common folk like Me.

No that one you see them looking at is probably Coin World. The greysheet looks like a small newsletter (I think, I get it online

If you are looking at world coins, the Standard Catalog of World Coins (commonly referred to simply as "Krause") is the only comprehensive guide. They have a series of books broken down by century. They also have an on-line version called numismaster. Admittedly, their pricing isn't always dead on. They tend to over estimate the value of newer coins and underestimate the value of older coins.

Is there a good magazine for a strictly cherrypicking kinda person? Or book (besides CherryPickers Guide)for that matter.
