Hi Brad,

It is not a doubled die. It could be the result of a die clash, a line of bubbles in the plating or perhaps the result of a die gouge. I lean toward the line of "bubbles" in the plating caused by some underlying corrosion between the zinc core and the copper plating.

Thanks,
Bill

As a friend used to say to me many years ago....No world cruise , this time:-)

It is a normal occurrence on the copper-plated zinc cents and as such it adds no value to the coin.

Thanks

Sometimes nothing looks like something. Even Abe looked unhappy this time.

Ok, then you will love this one as well. I was searching through many rolls of cents when I discovered abe looking back at me. Not a happy look on his face?

He looks like Dick Van Dyke, with a mustache.

I know, I have quite an imagination.

Who's got an imagination? I noticed that Abe is wearing a badge on his left shoulder also.

When I spotted it I looked a second time. The unique thing that if you rotate it, you don't see the face anymore. Just in the upright position with the light at 12:00 is where you can see it.
