Not sure what you would call this... just wondering if this looks like a mint struck error or a post mint error?

Not an error, just a severe hit to the edge of the coin. Whether it happened at the mint or after doesn't matter, still an undesirable coin worth its face value.

Hi,

I would just like to add that as far as terminology, there is no such thing as a post Mint error. Once a coin is minted it is damaged.

Thanks,
Bill

would lamanation errors be considered post mint errors? since they usually dont appear until some time after the coin was minted?

Good point....to a point:-)

A lamination error can become evident after the coin leaves the Mint but the error is the result of the coin being minted on a bad planchet. The Error was still done at the Mint during the creation of the coin.

The fact that it might become evident after it leaves the Mint can't be equated to the error being created after it left the Mint.

A lamination error is created at the Mint so it is still not a "Post Mint Error".

Thanks,
Bill

A error could be defined as a coin showing evidence of a mistake in its manufacture. Everything else is post mint damage.
