Nice find, you don't see too many anymore.

Cents minted in 1943 are made of steel. This was to conserve copper for munitions production during the war.

Yours is typical for a circulated specimen. The black is oxidation.

Not worth too much more than 1 cent.

Sorry if you're an advanced collector or already knew all this.
