five cents at least. Don't waste your money purchasing plated coins. They really aren't worth what they sell for. Pre 1938 could mean a buffalo that the date has worn off, which is very common with buffalos.

Worth a couple bucks as a novelty but numismatically, it is probably worth about as much as a dateless Buffalo(10-20 cents).

I just got in. I paid 40.00 for those 5 coins. thinking I was getting 24k gold. I thought it was a steel, from what you guys are telling me I got fool.

They may be plated in 24kt gold but the plating is all but worthless, only a very thin layer and certainly less than $1 worth of gold. However, the plating process essentially renders that gold uneconomically recoverable.
