I went to the coin shop today and saw this pr70 1964 lincoln..boy it was an eyecatcher !! for $39.00. I din't know how the price compares. can't find a price beyond pr65.He only uses Icg and PCGS. I have been told that if it is pcgs then grab it and run. and if it's icg then just run..I can't find a price anywhere. I am going back tomorrow to take a second look. any thoughts on the price ? any investment potential ?

Rest in Peace

Grovey,
According to the PCGS POP's report they have only graded 10 1964 Lincoln's PR70. One auction states.....

Proof Lincoln Cents
1964 1C PR70 Red PCGS. This Ultra Gem Lincoln is full red ... Bullet PCGS PR70 January 12, 2004 $632.50.....another says..

Proof Lincoln Cents
1964 1C PR 70 Red ICG. ... Internet Only ICG PR70 June 1, 2004 $19.00

I think the difference is quite significant! ICG has tons of PR70's out there, PCGS has only 10! Some of the ICG'S went as high as $40.00 so I guess your Dealers price is right where it should be, especially if its as pretty as you describe! I hope this helps....Mike

I would stay away from this one. If you are buying the coin for your collection go ahead, the price isn't too bad. If you are buying for investment, run away.
