My son was going thru a roll of 2009 EC and came across this. He emailed me this pic. We talked about it a little bit and I suggested we post it up on the forum for the experts to comment on.
I didn't see what he was refering to at 1st but once I looked past the spots and plate shifting by the date, I could see what he was looking at also. I was thinking a possible class 2 DDO but there hasn't been a class 2 DD since 1998. Ejection doubling? MD? There is more than one found in this roll.
Any comments as to what we are looking at.

Thanks,
Rock

Appears to be Machine Doubling to me. The doubled dies on this year are real prominent.

OK. So when the letters are thick like that, it considered doubling as well? With out anything else showing? Lines, etc.

The single squeeze hubbing process produced several doubled dies on the LP2 dies. Coppercoins have over 70 listed. Some minor others very nice.
