G'day, a one-year-only design, and one of my favourites, as I love Art-Deco. This is often called the "Rocking-horse Crown".
As to whether yours is genuine, I can't tell from your pic, but the texture of the obverse field looks a bit rough. The genuine article is a beautiful piece of work; duds are often cast, and the texture of the casting medium is passed to the "coin".
Regarding coin photography, there is a ton of advice in the CCF Photography sub-forum.
Other things to look for: check the weight - should be about 28.2 grams; duds are usually light. check with a magnet - silver is not magnetic. Not all duds are magnetic, but it's a simple, inexpensive test. If you don't pay too much, forgeries are an interesting theme for a collection. I've picked up a few.

These have been faked widely, and from the picture does look as though it could well be a fake example. I'll take another look if you upload some new photos though

The edge doesn't look quite right to me, it looks like it could very well be a fake.

I have a fake, or something of one of these. It looks good, is obviously not silver, but I bought it knowing it was not the real thing though the seller was not sure of what it is. Does it look like it is actually a silver coin?

try the magnet test: some high quality forgeries are magnetic. I have one that looks excellent, but it only weighs 19g, instead of 28g. Those are the simplest tests. Peter in Oz
