Is there any value to a $20 bill that has a star? I just got one in the ATM machine.

Can you post a scan of it? That would help a lot.It really depends on a few things like serial number,if it starts with at least four zeros I would keep it. Condition is another factor as is the date.

My scanner won't allow the scanning of money. The date is 1996 and the serial number is AD00833764 then a star. Underneath the AD in the serial number is D4.

Your scanner sucks and you should show it who is boss. The D4 actually refers to the Federal Reserve Bank the bill was made for. Bank 4 being Cleveland Ohio. For that particular run 6.4 million were printed so it is kind of common and the serial number is not really special. Unless the bill is crisp and minty I would probably spend it.
