Hi guys, here is an 1894 Sovereign I purchased from the Sydney coin show on the weekend. Just wondering what you think and what grade it might be?

I think I can see a mintmark. Is it a Sydney sov?

I hate trying to grade gold; light wear can be very hard to spot. I can't see any, so going from those pics I'd say at least aUnc.

G'day, I think the mintmark is "S", but it's nearly always difficult to be sure in a photo'.
I can see a few "bag-marks", which are acceptable in sovs of this era: obv in front of ear, and the veil SE of the ear; rev about 1 o'clock.
Usually, the first area of a sov to show wear is the greave, which is difficult to inspect closely in this pic. Everything else seems beautiful, and maybe the greave is too.
I'll be braver than Sap: subject to a close look at the greave, I'll say "Unc". But it can't be any higher, because of the bagmarks.
Sovs really are coins of great beauty: I doubt that I'll ever tire of looking at them.

Nice looking coin, from what I can see from the pictures I'm going to say AU-58.
