This coin was a gift from my wife in celebration of finally getting plans drawn for our own house (5 years isn't too bad is it? Considering I am a builder?)
I have no idea when it comes to grading Morgans, so any input/advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
New Orleans Morgans are real hard to distinguish AU from BU in photos due to their inherent weak strikes. The weak strike leaves the area of hair just above the ear and the eagles breast flat. Give it a look from an angle to see if there is unbroken mint luster across those two areas. If there is a lack of luster there then it's AU. If luster is present MS 63.
